YPAS Performance Tour 2013 First Itinerary


This first itinerary provides you with an overview of where the YPAS travelers are likely to go on any given tour day. As the planning progresses, the journey will become more detailed. Updates and confirmations will be published on the tour information site.  

Day 1, Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Overnight flight to Italy

Day 2, Thursday, March 28
Benvenuti in bella Italia
Upon arrival in Rome, transfer to the charming town of Rieti in the very heart of Italy. Orientation tour, check-in and welcome dinner. (Likely overnight at Hotel Cavour).

Day 3, Friday, March 29
Good Friday in Rieti
After a tour of Rieti’s historical and cultural highlights, participate in the Good Friday
cultural activities which include a procession and special illuminations. 

Day 4, Saturday, March 30
Assisi excursion
Travel to nearby Assisi for a guided tour and visit of the Basilicas with a first performance opportunity.

Day 5, Sunday, March 31
Highlight performance at the Teatro
YPAS will present a special concert in the magnificent Teatro di Rieti followed by an official reception and special dinner. 

Day 6, Monday, April 1
Montecassino Abbey Visit & Beach retreat
Bid farewell to Rieti as your group continues south to Montecassino for a special visit to and recital at the Benedictine Abbey. Continue to the Riviera d‘Ulisse for a beachside retreat. 

Day 7, Tuesday, April 2
Gaeta and Sperlunga in-depth
Castle performance
Visit these magical cities and beautiful beach resorts that attracted the Romans already over 2000 years ago, then prepare for a special castle performance in or near Itri. 

Day 8, Wednesday, April 3
Pompeii Excursion
See Mount Vesuvius and visit Pompeii. Alternatively, YPAS could also head to Rome and participate in the general Papal audience.

Day 9, Thursday, April 4
Rome in-depth & School Exchange
Explore Ancient Rome (Coliseum, Roman Forum) with a local guide, then meet with arts students at a local school followed by a concert at Piazza Navona.  

Day 10, Friday, April 5
Baroque Rome & a little dolce fa niente
There is so much to see and do in the Eternal City. Visiting the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain as well as the lively Trastevere area are a must. However, when in Rome, do as the Romans do and take some time off and enjoy the good life: try some gelato, shop for souvenirs, watch people and street artists...

Day 11, Saturday, April 6
Vatican Visit & Final performance
Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel on a special tour (optional after hours visit can be requested at additional charge with the opportunity to present a vocal recital in the Sistina) before YPAS will be the featured guest choir for Mass at St. Peter‘s Basilica. Incantato has already confirmed this highlight of your tour. After some time for shopping, a special farewell pizza party dinner will conclude the journey.

Day 12, Sunday, April 7
Return flight home
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for your journey back to the US.  

OPTIONAL: Day trip to Florence
May be substituted for one of the proposed days for an additional charge.
